Deb's Moving On
With many thanks to those who've helped along the way....
There just didn't seem any easy way to reach everyone and as the news is now "official" - I wanted to tell you all in a semi-personal way that after almost 2 decades at Ithaca College, I am leaving to take on a new and wonderful opportunity as the Director of Student Activities/Student Center at Tompkins Cortland Community College. I am very excited about meeting new colleagues and students as well as learning about a new and wonderful institution and its programs.
My last day at Ithaca College is July 9th and I will begin my new adventure at TC3 on July 26th.
Some special words to all of you:
TO MY FRIENDS AND IC ALUMNI: You are all the reason why I am able to move on to such an amazing opportunity. You have provided me with the support and love through the years that have kept me grounded and led to the success of many programs at IC. I cannot imagine losing touch with any of you as I move on to this next phase of my professional life.
TO MY IC FAMILY OF FACULTY AND STAFF: From my early days as the manager of the Pub and the Candy Shoppe to my new work on Community Service initiatives, I have met and come to know so many of you as my extended family. I've lived through many IC changes and programs with all of you and I am grateful for the second home you've provided.
TO MY CURRENT IC STUDENTS: How proud I am of you in all that we've accomplished together. Recently, the success of Alternative Spring Break, Service Saturdays, Senior Week, and many other programs would not have been possible without your hard work and commitment to IC and its programs. I look forward to following your success at IC and know that you can still count on me if you need me!
TO MY WONDERFUL COMMUNITY PARTNERS: Thank you so much for working with me to build such incredible opportunities for our IC students. You made my job of promoting volunteerism and service to our students so easy! I have thoroughly enjoyed working on so many great community initiatives with you all and look forward to maintaining these partnerships and friendships as I transition to TC3.
“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer
Much love, and please do keep in touch. I will need you all as I move on to my exciting new job!
